How is it that one could go from being the ‘in demand’ session drummer, playing, working, recording, touring, with several major acts to getting their soul tossed onto such an incredible stage in crafting amazing vehicles. It was my misfortune, or, good fortune, when life sent me a curve with a medical condition and told me to just throw away the drumsticks that I had clung to for most of my life. I was fortunate to refocus the passion that had me on the road with musicians year after year.
The PT Cruiser that changed it all
I purchased, for my own desire, a PT cruiser in 2001. I had no actual intention of indulging in my unrealistic obsession of customizing my ride. But I was drawn into the world of custom cars in 2001 when the door was flung wide open and I was thrown into the custom car show arena, by attending my very first custom car event. Shortly after this scintillating experience, I began rearranging and ‘fixing up’ my PT Cruiser. Entering and showcasing my PT in car shows now became not just a thrill, but an extension of my life. It was either fate or my undying obsession in pursuing the ultimate show car that sponsors both large and small eventually began approaching me with the ultimate, sweet phrase “may we sponsor your work?”
Major companies and major car events
2006 was the break out year for FEARONE. As a result of success with the PT Cruiser, GM came calling and urged us to submit a rendering of our own design idea for what an OEM HHR would look like if it were to appeal to the 18 to 35 year old market. we had a deadline of one week. We met the deadline and we were rewarded with design awards from the biggest custom car events in the world. GM came calling once again in 2007 and urged us to submit our design idea for the new Pontiac Solstice which would appeal to the up and coming ‘drifting’ scene. The project was completed in 2 weeks. And once again, we were fortunate that our work was acknowledged by the custom car event industry with record setting honors. Suddenly magazine, TV and film markets began to take notice. Knight Rider TV show and Fast n Furious 4 requested our vehicle designs as did numerous rap and performing artists. FEARONE has arrived!
