After having rolled through the FAST & FURIOUS 4 film with their Solstice, FEARONE retained top billing on Rich King Casting’s (RKC) dance card. In June of ‘08 RKC came calling on FEARONE once again. It turned out that the director of the Knight Rider TV show had an immediate need for a half dozen extremely hot and show car ready rides for their next episode “Journey to the end of knight”. On the set for the opening of the episode they required the featured vehicles to be showcased at the entrance to a bar scene. RKC made it clear with FEARONE that their red hot Solstice was at the top of Knight Rider’s most wanted list. FEARONE agreed to showcase their Solstice in the episode but only had 10 hours to get their Solstice onto the Knight Rider set which was located in the Northern California town of Sylmar.
They arrived on the set with minutes to spare and the episode proceeded without incident...That was until the filming returned to the episode’s ending which again featured a bar scene. Several of the show’s executives came to the sudden realization that the show’s main sponsor was none other than FORD. Well, the FEARONE Solstice was a Pontiac. They seemed to have a problem until the show’s director stepped up and made everything crystal clear. In spite of the obvious ‘conflict of interest’ that existed, the director stated that he wanted the Solstice because of its incredibly unique ‘bandana’ graphics as well as its commanding showcar presence in the episode.
Filming eventually concluded, the lights were turned off, the set was dismantled and FEARONE made a long but very satisfying journey back home.
